I have no business blogging, being that I’m so close to my Monday deadline. But … look at the pretty bird. Can you see her?

She’s in a nest, right outside my window, and she’s got two eggs. She’s been sitting on them for about a week, eyeballing my cats, who like to sit on the windowsill and lick their chops at her. But yes, she’s sitting there just like I’ve been sitting in my chair at my computer. I’m convinced those little suckers are going to hatch the moment I turn in my manuscript.
Here’s another type of wildlife.

Do you see its scary, ravenous teeth, ripping into my pages? I’m afraid to refer directly to its true name, as I’m fearful my computer will tell it that I’m talking bad about it. The unnamed device always seems to know when I’m on a deadline, and reacts according to its evil nature. I almost always edit on the screen, but I do like to do a last read through on paper.
I’m glad everyone liked Archer’s sweater yesterday. As I knitted it, with my tiny knitting needles, I hummed the Weezer sweater song. “If you want to destroy my sweater … pull this thread as I walk away (As I walk awayyyy). Watch me unravel, I’ll soon be naked, lyin’ on the floor, lyin’ on the floor! I’ve come undooooone!”
At least that’s how I remember the words.

Sweet photo! I believe that’s a mourning dove. They are such sweet birds. Did you know they mate for life? They do that sad sounding cooing … hence why they are called “mourning” doves, I suppose. I hope you take more pictures when the eggs hatch!

You are right, she’s a mourning dove. I have them a lot on my windowsill, making the pretty cooing sounds. She’s got one baby out there now — one egg still. We’ll see if I can get a good shot!
And L.A., you stinker for talking about my dirty window. Lol! Actually, that’s the effect of me trying to take a picture with a flash through a window and screen.
by Kim Lenox September 2nd, 2008 at 10:36 pmOh thats beautiful you got the pic of the bird right at the nest! Is it somewhere you look out when you’re writing? I’d know I wouldn’t be able to stop watching and wondering!
Eek, on the printer. We’ve gone through enough of them, that we should of bought a better one but looks like it doesn’t matter cuz it got you too!
