Spooooky!

October is the perfect month to read sPoOOoooOoooKy books!

Of course, NIGHT FALLS DARKLY fits the bill! But … my book doesn’t come out until the 7th. What are you going to read until then?

How about KISS OF A DARK MOON, by Sharie Kohler?! Werewolves! Cool! This is BOOK 2 in her Moonchasers Series. I’m venturing out from mi casa tomorrow to find my copy.

KISS OF A DARK MOON

LOVE AND LET DIE . . .

After a savage lycan attack destroyed her parents, Kit March has ignored the rules saying only men can be hunters and dedicated her life to destroying lycans. Her profession is hell on her love life, but she’s resigned to the lack of romance until she meets sinfully sexy European werewolf agent Rafe Santiago. Unfortunately, Rafe is a man with a mission: eradicate rogue agents from the American branch . . . and the foremost name on his list is Kit March.

Rafe has always put business before pleasure, but something about this feisty yet vulnerable woman is doing strange things to a man who has never before allowed his emotions to get the better of him. The merciless hunter excels at eliminating threats, but he doesn’t know how to handle the threat Kit poses to his heart.

The world of lycans has always been black and white. But now, suddenly, the rules are changing. Forces that have been brewing for generations put Kit and Rafe in terrible danger, and nothing they confront is quite as it seems . . . including each other. Is the passion between them just as illusory? Or is it the only thing real?

Box O’ Books

Life here is still getting back to normal! We’ve got our insurance adjuster coming on Thursday to look at our hurricane damage.

See, not so bad. Especially when I’m still hearing from writing pals who are still living with generator power and ice coolers. One published author I know from this area had two 80 year old trees fall on her beautiful house so … she’s homeless until repairs are made. Stores are just getting stocked up again, and various businesses are reopening. So continue to keep the area and its residents in your thoughts!

I was excited yesterday to come home to a box on my doorstep! Author copies!! That’s right! NFD is really a BOOK!

Thanks to ALL of you who have stopped by to comment on the new cover for SO STILL THE NIGHT and to enter my joint contest with Cindy Miles (if you’re just dropping by, see below!)

New Book Cover / SO STILL THE NIGHT

I’m sooooooo excited to share the book cover for SO STILL THE NIGHT. Thanks to everyone involved in its creation! A special shout out to Shirley and Victor, the historical costumers!

What is SSTN about? Hmmm? Here’s the book blurb!

Marcus Helios was a member of the Shadow Guard until one reckless act changed it all, bringing him to the edge of madness. His hope for salvation lies in the cryptic message in an ancient scroll, which is now in the possession of an enigmatic beauty named Willomina Limpett, whose father took the scrolls’ secrets to his grave. And Mina is not about to hand them over to a total stranger.

But someone else has designs on the mystery of the scrolls, and on Mark. She is Jack the Ripper’s jilted bride whose malevolent embrace will trap everyone within reach—and whose own dark secrets will challenge the powers of all she is destined to destroy.

SO STILL THE NIGHT is scheduled for a May 2009 release.

I’m back — with a CONTEST!

Hey all! Thanks to all of you who have been checking in to see how I fared in the hurricane. We lost some roof shingles, and have some water damage to our upstairs, but our power came back on yesterday. I’m glad to be back!

Let’s celebrate with a joint contest with my favorite chica, NAL Author, CINDY MILES!

Here’s the super easy rules: Anyone who posts a note on both my blog AND Cindy’s blog before midnight, September 26th, will be entered into a drawing for an Advanced Reading Copy of NIGHT FALLS DARKLY, a cover flat for NIGHT FALLS DARKLY, and a $25 gift certificate to AMAZON! WAHOOO!

And finally, if you’re wondering how you can help those affected by the hurricane, I recommend donating to the Houston Food Bank, which was already stretched before the storm, and is now overwhelmed with requests. Please keep south Texans in your thoughts and prayers. There are many, many very good people and entire families who are now homeless and facing the prospect of rebuilding their lives.

Hunkering down!

I apologize for a silent spate of days! I’m fortunate enough to live within hours of my parents, so went home to be there while my father had surgery. He’s still in the hospital but doing well.

And … I returned home just in time for a hurricane. We’ve bought the food, have the water, and everything outside has been secured. We’re not in a surge zone so we are “hunkering down.”

It will probably be next week before I check in again, and yes — I’ll announce details for a new contest! Something fun, and on a shorter time frame so we don’t have to wait so long to announce winners. NIGHT FALLS DARKLY releases October 7th!

4.5 Ribbons from Romance Junkies!

I’m pleased to share that NIGHT FALLS DARKLY received a 4.5 Ribbon Review at Romance Junkies!

The reviewer says, in part:

I love discovering new authors and new series. NIGHT FALLS DARKLY is such a novel. Set in the late 1800’s in London, the storyline of Jack the Ripper intrigued me because I was curious to how Ms. Lenox would pull off the plot. I am happy to report that NIGHT FALLS DARKLY is well written and beautiful prosaic at times. Archer is a prime alpha male and his dark countenance and erotic sensuality held me spellbound. Did I mention he is sexy as well? I found myself cheering Archer and Elena from the sidelines and thought Elena a worthy heroine. Archer’s protection of his love made me feel tingly inside and I loved every word.

NIGHT FALLS DARKLY is amazing. I found it to be highly suspenseful and deeply moving. I am desperate to read the next book of this series and am gathering bribes as I type! NIGHT FALLS DARKLY releases in October. Don’t miss it!

Thank you to Natasha at Romance Junkies for that review!
