Hey all! Thanks to all of you who have been checking in to see how I fared in the hurricane. We lost some roof shingles, and have some water damage to our upstairs, but our power came back on yesterday. I’m glad to be back!
Let’s celebrate with a joint contest with my favorite chica, NAL Author, CINDY MILES!

Here’s the super easy rules: Anyone who posts a note on both my blog AND Cindy’s blog before midnight, September 26th, will be entered into a drawing for an Advanced Reading Copy of NIGHT FALLS DARKLY, a cover flat for NIGHT FALLS DARKLY, and a $25 gift certificate to AMAZON! WAHOOO!
And finally, if you’re wondering how you can help those affected by the hurricane, I recommend donating to the Houston Food Bank, which was already stretched before the storm, and is now overwhelmed with requests. Please keep south Texans in your thoughts and prayers. There are many, many very good people and entire families who are now homeless and facing the prospect of rebuilding their lives.

Hi!
I am patiently (not exactly patiently) waiting for your book to be available. I currently own all of Cindy’s books. I am guessing this will enter me in the contest.
I also left a comment on Cindy’s blog.
thanks!

Hi Kim: When I read the back cover on Cindy’s blog I know I have to buy the book in October. I have 2 others to get and will definitely add yours to the list.
I hope that both you and Cindy do signings in NY some time in the future.
Thanks

I’m here because of the book contest. I look forward to reading your new book once it’s out.
by Erin Higgins September 17th, 2008 at 3:56 pmHi Kim, congrats on the upcoming release. Cindy sent me over here, and after reading the excerpt here, definitely sounds like a book for me.
by Pam P September 17th, 2008 at 5:01 pmHello Kim, Sounds like a fun contest! Glad to hear that you made it safely thru the Hurricane. Can’t wait to read this book when it comes out!
by Leanne S. September 17th, 2008 at 5:50 pmHello Kim, I read about your new book on Cindy’s site. After reading the blurp I know that I have to have this book.
My heart goes out to the people in Texas that have lost their homes. Our prayerls go out to all of you in Texas. Take Care.
by Virgina H September 17th, 2008 at 7:43 pmRead the blurb on Cindy’s blog… Jack the Ripper is one of my favorite real life mysteries. The lack of knowing WHO the Ripper was creates great opportunity for writers to fill in the blank. I’m particularly attracted to the authors that give it a paranormal twist. Can’t wait to read it!
by Stephanie September 17th, 2008 at 8:40 pmI can’t wait to read NIGHT FALLS DARKLY! It sounds SO good.
by Jennifer September 18th, 2008 at 8:26 amhi Kim,
I follow Cindy’s blog and so coming here to show support too.
I love your cover, just amazing! I love how it sounds too
Several months ago, we had serious rain and I need a new roof and it was nothing near hurricane rain, so I can imagine what you and others are going through.
by Dina September 18th, 2008 at 6:25 pmThat is a beautiful cover. The story sounds interesting too. Looking forward to it.
by Cheryl S. September 18th, 2008 at 8:01 pmHey Kim,
LOVE the cover!!! And the back blurb sounds wonderful. You are definitely going on my list!!!
Tami Brothers
by Tami B September 18th, 2008 at 8:44 pmWell, here’s my post. Followed Cindy’s link. Met you once at one of Cindy’s first book signings and am looking forward to the release of your book.
Glad things weren’t too bad for you during Ike. We have an office in Houston and Beaumont, the later faring very badly. We were on edge watching the news coverage from Savannah. The husband of one of our co-workers was also in surgery (bad motorcycle accident) on the 11th, right before Ike blew through, and we were concerned the hospital would lose power. But seems everything turned out all right.
We are definitely keeping Texas in our prayers.
by MRevelle September 18th, 2008 at 9:49 pmHi. I am visiting from Cindy’s site. Night Falls Darkly sounds like a wonderful read. How many books are going to be in the Shadow Guard series?
I am glad to hear that you are doing OK after the hurricane!
Cheryl “Cheri”
by cheryl c. (aka cheri2628) September 18th, 2008 at 11:42 pmHey hey! Thanks to all of you for visiting my site and entering the contest!
MRevelle, I hope your offices recover quickly. Beaumont tends to get the brunt of most storms that come our way. My brother used to live there, and I think it’s a beautiful place. They are always having to evacuate for storms though.
Cheryl,
Thanks for asking about the series! How many books there will be depends on reader enthusiasm! Right now I’m contracted for two books, NIGHT FALLS DARKLY and SO STILL THE NIGHT. I’m crossing my fingers, and hoping I get the opportunity to write more.
Thanks to all of you who commented on the cover for NIGHT FALLS DARKLY. I was really thrilled with it because it really reflected what I imagined Archer to look like, and the whole ambiance of the book. I’ve also received a cover for Book 2 - SO STILL THE NIGHT, so I’ll be posting that in the coming days!

Hi Kim,
Saw your new book blurb at Cindy’s site and wanted to tell you it sounds great! Can’t wait to read it.
So glad you survived the
hurricane. I had gone thru Gustav just before Ike hit ya’ll so I know first hand the damage those nasty acts of nature can do. All we can do is keep on keeping on…
by Pat September 21st, 2008 at 7:21 pmHi Kim!

by Christine September 22nd, 2008 at 7:07 amI would love to have an ARC of your book. And, I’m glad that you did not have that much damage from Ike. I live in Mississippi and Katrina was no joke.
