Shadow Guards

Saturday

My face is smushed. Sophie (the Bedroom Guardian Cat) I just took a 45 minute nap.

This morning I got up early, and got myself out the door for the WHRWA meeting, where I was so fortunate to be invited to sit on a panel with authors Kristi Gold, Colleen Thompson, Gerry Bartlett, Kerrelyn Sparks and Sharie Kohler. There was a big crowd, and we talked about all kinds of publisher and writing related topics. Everyone had great questions.

I always feel motivated after going to a local RWA chapter meeting. Both of the chapters I belong to are super talented groups, with lots of published authors and lots of talented soon-to-be-discovered authors. One really big benefit to WHRWA’s is that Katy Budget Books comes out to the meeting and sets up a mini bookstore. They offer a tempting variety of current releases, including those of our chapter authors, and … well, you know. Cha-ching! Bye bye money!

Speaking of books. I’ve had Stephanie Meyer’s TWILIGHT in my house for more than a eight months, and I’ve never read it. Because of all the buzz, I was just determined not to love it. Lol! But Meyers is certainly a talent. She sucked me right up into her world, and I’ve really, really enjoyed it. I haven’t seen the movie yet. We’ll see if I get out to watch it before it leaves the theaters.

This will be a busy week! I’ve got galleys for SO STILL THE NIGHT to read, and I heard from my editor on the proposal for Book 3, and need to make some changes before I jump in.

Have a great Saturday everyone!
