It’s nice to see that people are still discovering the Shadow Guards!
Many hugs and kisses to Aemelia at Enchanting Reviews for her review of BOOK II, SO STILL THE NIGHT.
She says, in part:
“With a fast paced ending with a few surprising twists and revelations, SO STILL THE NIGHT leaves the reader breathless, going back through the story for clues they may have missed as to the Dark Bride and her cohorts identities. I can’t wait to read the next in this series, Darker Than Night, due out in April 2010.”
THANK YOU to Enchating Reviews!
Hey all!
It’s me, Kim the Bad Blogger. I’ll spare you the excuses except to say that the Evil Dayjob has been excessively Eveeel lately.
But I have received the first review for the third book in the Shadow Guards trilogy!

Thank you to Fresh Fiction who says:
“This Shadow Guard installment is rich with tension, desire, betrayal and a strong sense of friendship.”

If you’re a fan of bestselling author, Nalini Singh, or if you haven’t tried her books yet — stop by Silk & Shadows on Thursday, July 9th, where she’ll be blogging and giving away a copy of one of her books to a lucky commenter!
We look forward to seeing you there!
Happy 4th to everyone!
It’s terrible that I haven’t updated my blog since Memorial Day, but I’ve been crunching on deadline! I’m a slow writer, so “deadline” for me extends into months.
I’ll be finished soon, though, and look forward to being more regular here!
In the meantime, thank you for your emails and visits to the website!
I hope all of you are safe and well on Memorial Day.
I’m spending most of the day writing, but hope to spend the evening outdoors with my family.
Here’s some pics from my garden. Well, I shouldn’t say “my” garden. Lord Lenox is the gardener in the family.

I’ve got my Stars and Stripes flying outside in honor of Memorial Day.
My day will be spent in the Writing Chair. I do have a Writing Chair.

I’ve got writing weekend food (junk!)

I also have a dishwasher full of clean dishes and a sinkful of dirty dishes that needs to be taken care of, but for now we’re ignoring those.
What about you? Do you have a special writing or reading chair?
I’m writing today. How about you?
Yesterday’s booksigning at Katy Budget Books was just fantastic! I’ll share a picture soon.
As for the writing of DARKER THAN NIGHT (Deadline/D-Day, July 1st) I’ve gotten myself all tangled up in a particular scene, so I’m going to skip it and move on. I’ll come back to it later!
There are blackberries on a vine in the backyard, so I think this afternoon I’ll break from the manuscript to make a cobbler.
That’s my update for today! THRILLS! CHILLS! I know …
I’ll be signing books this Saturday from 3-5 at Katy Budget Books in Katy, TX. If you’re in the area, I hope you’ll come by!
Also signing is USA and NYT bestselling author, Kerrelyn Sparks!
I think this is my favorite review for SO STILL THE NIGHT so far, by KMont at Lurv A La Mode.
I love KMont’s reviews, and have bought a number of new-to-me authors after reading about them on her site.
Hey, and if you like to win free books and STUFF, Cindy Miles has a great contest going on right now at her blog.
What are you doing tonight? I’ll be up, scratching out at least five pages by candlelight. Okay, not by candlelight, and I’ll be pecking them out on my laptop, but it sounded a lot more romantic the other way.
